Advanced Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistor: a Review

Transistors play an important role in technological advancement. An overview of transistors and the ideas presented about them is very useful and improves the views of researchers. In this paper, several types of functional transistors of semiconductor field effect such as metal oxide semiconductor field effect (MOSFET), metal semiconductor field effect (MESFET), silicon on insulator metal oxide semiconductor field effect (SOI-MOSFET), silicon on insulator metal semiconductor field effect (SOI-MESFET) and high electron mobility transistor (HEMT) have been investigated. For each of the types of transistors listed, the proposed ideas affect the important the parameters of the transistor such as the depletion region, critical electric field, the parasitic capacitors (The gate-source capacitance and the gate-drain capacitance), the hole concentration and the electron concentration and reasons for parameter improvements are described. Improves DC and RF characteristics and transistor applications increase.
